Why survival mode no longer works — and what I’m building instead
There’s a specific kind of quiet that only shows up at the end of the year.
Not the loud, celebratory kind.
The softer kind.
The kind where you drink your coffee a little slower.
Run errands you’ve been putting off.
Try to “get ahead” just enough so you can finally sit.
That’s how the first half of this holiday week felt for me.
But somewhere in the last 48 hours… something shifted.
Not momentum.
Instinct.
And once I felt it, I couldn’t un-feel it.
Here’s the truth I finally stopped dancing around:
You can’t build a business that fits your life if you’re building it from survival mode.
2025 brought me to my knees more than once.
I turned 41.
I hit year seven as a digital entrepreneur.
And suddenly, the old way of doing things didn’t feel like the right way anymore.
Not wrong.
Just… misaligned.
For a long time, survival mode looked productive on me.
It looked like being resourceful. Adaptable. Capable.
But underneath?
It was exhausting.
And it was quietly shaping my business in ways that no longer matched the life I actually want to live.
Over the break, I finally gave myself what I’d been avoiding: space.
Quiet hours.
A few deep conversations with real-life online friends.
Yes — even some AI brainstorming (because sometimes you just need a neutral brain to ask better questions).
And instead of forcing answers, I let things surface naturally.
That’s when it clicked.
Not in a dramatic “burn it all down” way.
In a calm, grounded oh… this makes sense way.
I’ve officially split my brand.
Not because I’m scattered.
Not because I don’t know what I’m doing.
Because I finally do.
Here’s what that looks like now:
This is where my tech-and-strategy brain lives.
Systems.
Automation.
Backend clarity.
Helping women simplify their tools, clean up their digital mess, and build businesses that actually support their energy — not drain it.
This is where my heart stretches out.
Lifestyle content.
Cookbooks.
Encouragement.
Cozy marketing ideas.
Creative income rooted in real life.
It’s for moms and multi-passionate women building businesses from kitchen tables — while raising families, honouring rhythms, and creating legacy work.
Here’s the part that matters most:
I’m not speaking to two different people.
I’m speaking to the same woman — at different stages of her clarity.
She’s practical and creative.
She wants structure and softness.
She’s done hustling but still deeply ambitious.
And she deserves spaces that meet her where she is — without forcing her to choose.
I’m leaving behind:
Building everything from urgency
Forcing clarity before it’s ready
Pretending exhaustion is just “part of the season”
Shaping my work around survival instead of sustainability
Honestly?
I’m done carrying businesses that don’t carry me back.
This next season looks like:
✨ Structure and softness
✨ Less hustle, more legacy
✨ Clear containers for my work
✨ A business ecosystem that feels like home
Not louder.
Not faster.
Just truer.
If you’ve been sensing that quiet nudge — the one that says there’s another way to do this — I see you.
You don’t need a dramatic pivot.
You don’t need to start over.
Sometimes you just need permission to build differently now.
And if you want help rebuilding your backend, aligning your brand, or simply having a strategy conversation that feels like a deep breath?
I’m right here.
This year cracked something open for me.
And instead of rushing to seal it back up, I’m letting it guide what comes next.
Here’s to businesses that fit our lives.
And lives that leave room for more than survival. ☕💛
See you in the next one,

Is it normal to want to change direction after several years in business?
Absolutely. Growth often brings refinement, not reinvention.
Does splitting a brand mean starting over?
No — it can actually bring more clarity, ease, and alignment when done intentionally.
How do I know if I’m building from survival mode?
If your systems constantly feel reactive, exhausting, or held together by urgency — that’s a sign.
Can you build a slower business and still be successful?
Yes. Sustainability creates longevity, confidence, and better decision-making.
What if I’m multi-passionate and don’t fit in one box?
You’re not broken — you just need clearer containers for your ideas.
